“On Tuesday, a day after experiencing a heart arrest while participating in a practice at the University, LeBron James’ Son Bronny James , was hospitalized to the Southern California University hospital in stable condition. An unnamed family member confirmed the information.

The spokesperson stated that Bronny James, who is 18 years old, received medical treatment at USC’s Galen Center on Monday morning after the cardiac arrest incident. He was taken to the hospital, where his condition stabilized after treatment in the intensive care unit.

The spokeswoman stated, “We ask for respect and privacy for the James family, and we will update the media when we have more information.” “LeBron and (his wife) Savannah want to extend their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation publicly to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication in ensuring the safety of their athletes.”

USC’s spokesperson, Jeremy Pepper, declined to comment on the specific details or provide additional information in response to the Associated Press’ request for comment on privacy concerns. The Los Angeles County Fire Department was also contacted for a statement.

A USC representative outside the Galen Center stated that there would be no briefing or release of statements regarding James’ health concerns.

LeBron James’ Son Bronny James said in May that he would play basketball for the Trojans in college. His father owns the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Trojans’ campus is only a short distance away. The basketball team at USC is presently getting ready for a two-week trip to Europe in the coming month.

While his father, LeBron James, is a basketball legend and a four-time champion in the NBA, Bronny James has shown exceptional talent himself, establishing himself as a prominent point guard in the country before choosing to join USC at the end of the recruiting cycle.

Prayers for Bronny and the James family (prayer emoji),” tweeted Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who suffered a heart arrest during an NFL game last season. You, people, have been equally encouraging to me throughout my endeavor.

Sports figures from all across the world also sent encouraging remarks. Several NBA players, including Jason Tatum, Trey Young, and Donovan Mitchell, tweeted their prayers for James, and former Lakers forward Metta Sandiford-Artest added, “Praying for Bronny. A wonderful young man. Young fella, return forcefully. Feel and behave better.

USC’s new 7-foot player, Vincent Iwuchukwu, suffered an injury during practice exactly one year after Bronny James. Iwuchukwu not only lived but also made a comeback to suit up for the Trojans later in the campaign.

Cardiologist and Chief Medical Officer of L.A. Care Health Plan, Dr. Samir Amin, is not involved in Bronny James’ treatment, but he mentioned that the prospect of the youngster’s recovery is encouraging, considering the circumstances.

Amin said, “It’s a positive sign that there hasn’t been significant brain damage or major cardiac injury if it was due to an abnormality in the chest, as was the case with Damar Hamlin. Many times, people get a positive outcome because it’s a rare and abnormal event for the heart to stop beating. Also, in young individuals, you get these bounce-backs very quickly. He’s already out of the ICU, which is a positive sign.”

However, Amin cautioned that predicting Bronny James’ return to basketball or how quickly it could happen would be premature.

“If (the cardiac event) is related to an underlying genetic or electrical problem, then it can be a little more challenging to bring someone back to the field of play,” Amin said.

As per On3.com, Bronny James’ on-court reputation, image, and likeness are valued at $6.3 million, considering his family’s fame and massive social media following.

LeBron James has frequently discussed his desire to play one season of college basketball with Bronny, which would be the first time they’d play together since Bronny is their first-born among the three children he shares with his wife. Recently, LeBron confirmed that he would play his 21st NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers after spending the last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The decision to stay close to home was a significant shift for Bronny, who was among the top college basketball prospects last March and is expected to be one of the most exciting teams in the upcoming college basketball season at USC.

Bronny, whose full name is LeBron James Jr., was a rising star at Sierra Canyon School as a two-way guard last season. Bryce, his younger brother, who is 16 years old, played at Sierra Canyon before switching to Campbell Hall School in Studio City for the upcoming high school season.

On July 1, 2022, Vincent Iwuchukwu experienced a cardiac arrest. Athletic trainers utilized an automated external defibrillator to bring him back to life. Iwuchukwu had an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator device, commonly known as ICD, placed in his chest. It generates a battery-operated pulse to restore normal heart rhythm.
