Yankuba Minteh is receiving widespread acclaim for his outstanding performances while on loan with Feyenoord.

The young talent, currently on loan from Newcastle United, has made a sensational start to his tenure at Feyenoord. At just 19 years old, he became Newcastle’s first summer signing, arriving from Danish side Odense and promptly being loaned out to the Eredivisie. So far, Minteh has already contributed three goals and one assist to the team’s campaign.
Feyenoord currently occupies the fourth position in the Eredivisie standings and recently delivered a resounding 4-0 victory against rivals Ajax at the Johan Cruyff ArenA. This game was notably interrupted for two days due to fan disturbances following Feyenoord’s unexpected 3-0 lead. Although Yankuba Minteh did not register a goal or an assist in that particular match, he consistently troubled Ajax’s defense and was eventually rewarded with a goal against Go Ahead Eagles over the weekend.
Despite his youth, Feyenoord’s manager, Arne Slot, has been greatly impressed by Minteh’s confidence and his determination to give his all for the team. Slot commented, “His self-confidence is truly remarkable, and his work ethic is extraordinary. When we analyze his statistics, they are genuinely impressive. Minteh covered more sprint meters against Ajax in a single hour during the recent 4-0 Feyenoord victory than many other players do in two entire games.”
“He possesses incredible speed and an unyielding determination,” Slot added. “In the match against Ajax, we substituted him for Ramiz Zerrouki, and he immediately accepted the decision. He recently played a crucial role in securing Gambia’s qualification for the Africa Cup next winter.”
While avid Newcastle United supporters closely monitor Minteh’s progress in the Netherlands, former Dutch international Pierre van Hooijdonk has shed light on why fans should anticipate Minteh’s arrival at the Newcastle squad at the end of the season. As reported by Sport Witness, Van Hooijdonk stated, “I believe Minteh is an extremely intriguing player, especially for Feyenoord.”
“Feyenoord lacks players who can genuinely outmaneuver opponents one-on-one, and Minteh possesses that ability, combined with lightning-fast speed. This combination makes him a significant threat even in European away matches.”
Minteh’s Feyenoord side is set to face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League tonight before taking on PEC Zwolle in the league this Sunday.
